Dealing with Loss on the Holidays

My father passed away in 2023 right before Thanksgiving, it's time for the holidays again and I just wanted to share how I feel.
The hardest part?
I miss calling my parents and that is a hard thing to go through - however when my kids saying they miss the grandparents.. oh boy, that really hits me much harder. My oldest daughter has the hardest time with it. Her Christmas wish was for them to come back and spend time with us. It's hard to explain to kids that they are in a better place and we will see them again one day. I'm not sure if I believe that myself, but I want to believe it for her.
What can we do?
We can remember the good times and the good things that they did for us. We can try to be better people and live our lives in a way that would make them proud. We can celebrate the holidays and remember the good times we had with them. We can also talk about them and keep their memory alive. I think that is the most important thing we can do.
My dad told me that it was time to nut up, and I've been trying my best to do that. I hope I'm making him proud.
